Genesis 1 & 2
God truly did create a wonderful universe. God didn’t need to create the universe; He choose to create it for us because of His love.
Genesis 1:2 “the earth was formless and empty” provides the image for the creation story that follows.
Genesis 1;9 God said, “Let the waters beneath the sky flow together into one place, so dry ground may appear.” And in Genesis chapter 2 we read of the creation of man and woman, Adam and Eve.
Why have I jumped back to Genesis today. Well, I just had the privilege of traveling to the Grand Canyon with family. What masterpiece! The strokes of the creators hands were written with each viewpoint. It was overwhelming to feel the presence of our Creator. To feel the depths of His lover for us.
The great Colorado River runs deep within the canyon. In Isaiah 43 we read the greatness of Gods victory for His people, for us. In verse 3-20 “For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland. The wild animals in the fields will thank me, the jackals and owls, too, for giving them water in the desert.
We were blessed to see a rainbow or two during our visit. The rainbow serves as a visual reminder of Gods promise and His faithfulness to His covenant. His faithfulness to His people.
We can forget about Gods faithfulness to us in our deep canyons of life. We don’t want to seek the refreshment of the river God has provided by going to the depths we need to. We can miss Gods rainbow in our clouds.
God thank you for loving us so much that you take care of us in our deepest moments and continue to bless us. Thank you for your marvelous creation. Your strokes of beauty are truly breath taking. Thank you for our families and thank you for each moment we are blessed to be with them. Amen
