No doubt this past week’s event at the school lays heavy on our hearts. What is happening today played out again and again in the news. How do we deal with such tragedy?
I don’t have all the answers to the whys. I do know this, there is power in prayer. We need to love and check in on our neighbors. Be the light of God to the lost.
In Acts today I read “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations” and “be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” Acts 1:8.
God is on the move in our country and it is our mission to spread His love, forgivness and salvation to all. God loves the broken hearted. Psalm 34:18, which states, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit”.
God is a living example of how we too should live out our life.
I know it can be hard when you hurt too.
With God’s promises we can carry His story with us and share with those in need.
Luke 19:10, which states, “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost”, and Romans 5:8, which says, “But God demonstrates his own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us”
Lord God forgive us for the anger or bitterness we feel today. Open our eyes to your love for our neighbors and give us an opportunity to share your salvation.
Lord we lift everyone who has been struck by the tragedy in Minneapolis. Put your loving hands on them. Seal their hearts today so that they can feel your presence.
As our children prepare for school after this long weekend we ask that you go before each and everyone of them. Protect them and guide their steps. May they be closer to you in their day. Put your messenger in their path everyday.
God bless those who live your light and have choosen to share what you have to offer.
Amen
