The hardest moments is when we have to say goodbye
Goodbye after time away with friends full of laughter and adventure. Goodbye after a holiday meal with family reminiscing. Goodbye after time with a best friend full of laughs and tears. Goodbye after a weekend with your adult children or grandchildren.
There is always so much excitement over planning for the next visit or adventure. So often after the house goes quiet or we begin to unpack our suitcase we mentally being to move on to the next to do.
When Jesus died on the cross for the worlds sins; so many looked up and just stared. Others turned and walked away and began to think about the next to do. Many paused and remembered His promise written for us in Luke 24:46 “He told them, this is what is written. The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day.”
It is hard for each of us to remember His words to us. His promise written to us in John 14:3 “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself, that were I am, there you will be also.”
Sometimes the truth is we dont get to say goodbye to our loved ones. They are taken by a tragedy or an illness.
We like Paul are called to be a servant of Christ Jesus. Romans 1:1 “Paul a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel of God.” When we choose Jesus as our Savior, when we share the truth of everlasting life with others, we know we the peace we can experience again.
Don’t treat every moment of separation with fear. Go into each day as an apostle for Jesus. Matthew 25:23 reminds us of the words we will hear when we follow the bible. When we live our life with God in our hearts and follow his plan for us fearlessly. “Well done, good and faithful one.”
In the days that have come after the tragic death of Gods servant Charlie Kirk we as believers in Jesus Christ as followers of His word are assured that we will be together in eternity.
I pray on my knees for the lose his family feels today. As the Holy Spirit fills the hole he filled in their family with peace and faith. We should be reminded to sit quietly after each moment we spend with our friends and family. Thank God for the blessings of the time together. Let the Holy Spirit fill our hearts with those blessings before we start our ‘to dos’
Our families and friends; brothers and sisters in Christ pray with thanksgiving everyday.
