Trust
His eyes locked deep into her steel blue eyes; trust me he said with a wink. Sounds like words from a romance novel.
How many times can you remember hearing those words or something similar? As children we ran freely around the neighborhood getting into mischief. Trying new things each day. Some decisions were good one’s others not so much.
In our younger days we trusted our parents to guide and protect us. The older we became we decided, not always knowingly to trust ourselves and the influence of others. Soon we may have experienced some disappointment or hurt in relationships, jobs or causes we believed in.
We pull back our trust and put a price on earning it back. We do the same n our relationship with Jesus. Why God? Why this? Why now?
Its true; people will disappoint us; its human nature. Expectations are unclear sometimes. What we thought or planned didn’t pan out. We have even been the one to disappoint in some situations.
But then what? Are we ready to suffer for Gods purpose? His promise of healing and grace? I cannot image not knowing the gift of mercy we experience when we hang onto Gods lover for us and lean into His plan.
We truly are forgiven! Time and time again when we try to take back control or start to think that God has abandon us. Hebrews 13:5 “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Next time you experience pan or disappointment don’t wonder where God is. Embrace His Holy Spirit that He pours out on you. Lean into His love and watch His miracles in your life unfold.
God, we trust you and will honor your purpose for us today. Amen
