I was in a hurry, but I caught myself just for a second in the mirror. Oh, maybe I better back up and check my outfit, my hair, my eye liner and of course an opportunity for self-judgment.
Rushing thoughts came flooding in my head as I stared at myself. Maybe I am not the right person for this. Maybe this isnt a good color on me. Does this eyeliner make my eyes to dark?
The enemy was in full motion. He wants to stop us right there and drag us deep in the crevasses of our memories, opinions, accusations, and misunderstandings. They seem to flood my mind today.
Then I stop that story and the Holy Spirit begins to remind me of Gods love for me. In the beginning, back to Adam and Eve God did not want us to be ashamed of ourselves. Our naked, unbroken and sinless selves.
Oh but wait! We, I am not sinless. Like Adam and Eve we have fallen short and in some cases some of us have been banished out of the garden. But what if we look at this justified judgement through Gods eyes. Through the passion, love, mercy, and joy He has for us. His Child – His Bride
I heard Sandi Robertson (Duck Dynasty Fan) speak about Revelations 19:7-9. “And His bride has made herself ready”.
God dosent want us to stay back there. Stuck in the crowd; the crowd that has come to see the wedding. He is anxiously waiting for His bride.
So go prepare yourself for you day. Be like that bride who spends endless months preparing for her big day. Plan how wonderful you will be that day Jesus sees you coming down the aisle. Plan every day for that moment. When you see Jesus looking at you with tears of compassion as He has prepared a home for you with Him in eternity.
You are not that person evil wants you to see in the mirror. You are a beautiful and wonderfully made bride for Jesus. We are ALL made precision in His sight. Isaiah 43:4 says; “Because you are precious and honored in My sight, and because I love you, I will give men in exchange for you and nations in place of your life.”
This week plan for that day when you meet your maker, your bridegroom. Stop and look at yourself in the mirror through the eyes of Jesus. SEE HOW WONDERFUL YOU ARE!
God thank you for your tenderness when we sin. Thank you for choosing us as your bride. Today we commit to you. We prepare ourselves each day through repentance, forgiveness and mercy to meet you again in your new garden.
