blind

Blind spot, duck blind, deer blind, are you blind??

I have seen movies where a blind person meets the lover of their life, A person that moves with them and protects their steps.

What about the spiritual blindness that results from sin? Matthew 15:14 Jesus says, “If the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit” And in Mark 8:22-26 Jesus heals the blind man.

Both of these verses are not referencing physical blindness, but the lack of spiritual knowledge we have and blindly being led away from Gods teachings by those that are not following Christ.

In John 9:3 when Jesus heals the blind man He says, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned; but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.”

Remember Matthew 15:14 – If the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.” We start our day in prayer putting on the armor of God and step into our day. Shortly we turn a blind eye to the sin we have bumped into. We lose sight of what Gods divine purpose for our lives and for those we encounter throughout our day.

It is not our job to just move the table out of the way for the blind to pass. We are to teach them how to avoid the table. See where we are going with this?

God wants us to teach the spiritually blind how to reach out, feels Gods leading and trust His direction. Allow the blind to feel His presence in us. For us to be a light in the darkness that sin creates. For us to not only help them move a different direction but how to avoid that same table again and again.

We aren’t meant to stubble but sometimes God will let us trip and fall to our knees (free will) were we need to be. Seeking HIs guidance, forgiveness and repenting of our sins like David does in Psalm 51.

When a blind person trips or falls because of something in front of them do you walk past or do you reach down and provide guidance? God uses every person’s life regardless of their abilities or their relationship with Jesus for a divine purpose. A purpose for you, me and the person who has fallen right there. We are to seek Gods mercy and guidance.

You might say; “oh i cant do anything like this??” I might offend someone. Jesus offended so many people He was nailed to a cross. Even in that moment of suffering Jesus still prayed for the thief next to Him. Luke 23.43

We may suffer some by giving up our time to reach down and provide a loving hand to those spiritually blind. Jesus teaches us and the blind man in Mark 8 what to do once we are up. Jesus took the blind man out of the village by the hand and lead him out of the village. Jesus removed him from the unbelief and skepticism of the town. He removed him from his environment that held on so tightly to his disability so they could feel better of themselves. The blind man must be worse than them because Gods judgement made him blind.

Sometimes we do need to remove ourselves from our village. From our life of sin. The bible doesn’t go onto tell us if the healed man did as Jesus instructed. But I think it is fair to believe he did. Jesus gave him sight, the ability to see things he never did before.

This is what we as believers in Jesus salvation are to do. Give sight to the spiritually blind and instruct them through Gods word not to go back to the sin that caused them to fall.

We too need to stay in Gods word every day and find others that will guide us away from sin. In Luke 6:39 Jesus asked an important question about our circle. “Can the blind guide the blind? Will they not fall into a pit.?

This week reach for the fallen. Pray for Gods discernment in your life and those around you.

Lord we ask you to take us out of our village of sin. Show us away from the table that evil sets before us every day. Open our eyes to the fallen and show us the way to lead them. Amen

So thankful for you every day. God bless you in this season of thankfulness and family.
